Who is Awaken Organics?

Awaken Organics is a 100% Australian-owned female-led business founded in 2015 and all our products are made in Australia.

Where are your products made in Australia?

All our products are made in an Ecocert accredited and approved facility in Melbourne, Australia.

How are Awaken Organics products different to other beauty brands?

At Awaken Organics we set out to create an anti ageing range that supports your skin throughout your 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s+ journey.  The needs of your skin changes as you move through this journey and so do your skincare requirements, that is why we set out to create a range that adapts to the changing needs of your skin.

Australia is renowned worldwide for its diverse landscape – from the desert to the rainforest and coastline.  We are subjected to the harsh sun and differing weather conditions, this means that our Australian native and grown botanicals are renowned for their potency as they have learnt to adapt and survive in these conditions.  The inclusion of these Australian botanicals in our formulations ensures the multi-functionality of each ingredient is translated into our products.

Ecocert COSMOS certification means we are delivering one hundred percent transparent products to consumers.  We must adhere to Ecocert’s strict guidelines, this means a powerhouse of organic and natural ingredients that are safe to use on your skin, no nasty ingredients hidden, packaging that can be recycled with minimal impact on the environment and a brand that is safe and can be trusted.

Who helps innovate and create new products?

Our CEO and Founder liaises with highly experienced organic chemists that are leaders in their field to create new, innovative and exciting products that meet our brief across the Awaken Organics brand.  

What ingredients are omitted from all Awaken formulations?

We adhere to Ecocert’s strict standard for organic certification and to protect the wellbeing of our customers.  We do not include Aluminium, Animal Derived Ingredients, BHA, BHT, EDTA, Ethanolamines, Ethoxylated Ingredients, Formaldehyde, GMOs, Hydroquinone, Methyl ingredients, Mineral Oil, Parabens, Petrolatum, PEGs, PFAs and PFCs, Phthalates, Resorcinol, Silicones, Sulfates, Synthetic Colours and Fragrances, Toluene and Tricolsan in any of our products.  That is our guarantee.  

Do you test your products on animals?

No we do not test any of our products on animals and we do not use ingredients that have been tested on animals.  That is the Ecocert and Awaken cruelty free commitment!

Are your products vegan?

All our products are vegan friendly and we avoid the use of animal products in our formulations.  However, due to the amazing benefits of Manuka Honey for your skin we have included this ingredient in our 30s Prevention Night Moisturiser. All precautions are taken to ensure disruption to bees is very minimal and non-invasive to their environment.  It is important to note that Manuka Honey is permissible in formulations under the Ecocert COSMOS standard.

I have an allergy to peanuts, tree nuts, seeds, shellfish, are your products safe to use?

We do not formulate our products with peanuts, most tree nuts or shellfish.  However, some products contain macadamia oil, sunflower oil, coconut, shea butter and wakame seaweed.  Each individual product page contains a full list of all ingredients used in the formulation of that product, alternatively you can view each ingredient in more detail on our Ingredients page.  If you do have any serious allergies to peanuts, tree nuts or iodine, we recommend you seek advice from a medical practitioner or carry out a patch test prior to using our products.  

Are your products safe to use while I am pregnant?

Our ingredients have been carefully and thoughtfully chosen for their efficacy and skin benefits, and also for their safety.  However, if you are unsure we recommend you seek advice from a medical practitioner prior to using our products.

Why do your products contain an expiration date and where can I find this?

Regulations vary throughout the world, but we have opted to follow strict guidelines ensuring all personal care products contain an expiration date.  Our products carry a 2-year expiry date from date of manufacture, this can be located on our tubes and bottles.  In addition to this requirement, we also include an opened jar logo with 6M on the back of all our products and on the box packaging for easy reference.  This indicates that a product must be used within 6 months of opening the product, and within the 2-year expiration date from manufacture.     

Do you use preservatives in your products?

When a product contains water or a water-based ingredient such as aloe vera, a preservative is required.  This ensures products retain their efficacy, integrity, safety and stabilised formulation throughout the shelf life.  Our organic certification ensures the transparent use of gentle and safe preservative ingredients that comply with the Ecocert standard to maintain the longevity of our products and the wellbeing of our customers. 

How do I store my products?

We highly recommend storing all products away from direct heat and sunlight preferably at room temperature or in a cool place below 30oC/86oF.  


Are Awaken Organics products certified organic?

Yes all our products have been certified by Ecocert COSMOS.  We proudly display this logo on all our packaging, website and related material.

What are the benefits of the Ecocert certification?

Ecocert has nearly 30 years of experience for audit and certification of organic products in France and in more than 130 countries and prides itself as the world’s leading specialist in the certification of sustainable practices.

What are the benefits of the COSMOS certification?

COSMOS stands for COSMetic Organic and Natural Standard which regulates organic and natural cosmetics worldwide.  The COSMOS standard ensures environmentally friendly production and processing processes respecting human health also, development of the concept of green chemicals, responsible use of natural resources, respect of biodiversity, absence of petrochemical ingredients, parabens, phenoxyethanol, perfumes and synthetic colourants, absence of GMO and recyclable packaging.


Does Ecocert have a standard for packaging?

All packaging must be submitted to Ecocert and approved for use.  Packaging forms part of the standard and both primary and secondary packaging must minimise the direct and indirect environmental impacts of packaging during its life cycle.  This is achieved by minimising the amount of material used, maximising the amount of material that can be reused or recycled and the use of materials with recycled content where possible.  All packaging is recyclable and has been approved by Ecocert as it meets their strict standard. 

What packaging do you use for your products?

We source premium packaging in Australia and from around the world that are recyclable and sustainable.  Suitable materials that meet Ecocert’s standard are used for our range of products including plastics such as PE and PP, and glass.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Afterpay (Australia and New Zealand residents only).  Please note that we are unable to accept American Express at this stage, however we welcome the use of American Express cards through your PayPal account.

How do I know you have received my order?

Once you have successfully paid for your online order, you will automatically receive an Order Number confirming details of your purchase.

When will you dispatch my order?

For all orders placed before 2pm (AEST) Monday through Friday your order will be prepared and shipped the same day, with the exception of public holidays and weekends.  Orders received after 2pm (AEST) will be shipped the following business day.

Shipping & Returns

Do you ship internationally?

Yes we are pleased to ship our products internationally.  You will be required to sign for your package at the time of delivery.

Where is my order?

You will receive an e-mail from Australia Post for orders within Australia, or from FedEx for all International orders once your order has been collected by the relevant freight company.  This will allow you to track your package throughout the delivery process on the nominated carrier’s website.

Do you accept returns?

Yes we do accept returns for unused, unopened and saleable items that are not end of line or heavily discounted, and purchased online according to Consumer Guarantees and Australian Consumer Law.  If you purchased your product(s) through one of our stockists please contact them directly.

What is the process to return products?

  1. Please Click Here to complete our Contact Us form online and do not forget to include in the Message section at the bottom of the form your order number, date the order was placed and reason for a refund request.  
  2. If you meet the refund criteria we will email a Return Form to you to complete and return with your product(s) to our return address included on the form.
  3. Pack your product(s) safely to avoid damage during transit, include the completed Return Form in your package, and send the package back to Awaken Organics.  Unfortunately we do not offer a free return service, all return postage costs must be paid for by the customer.
  4. Once we receive your package we will email you to confirm your refund details.
